Machine Man
I have watched my shadow grow
Longer in the setting sun
Waiting for the word or voice
Waiting for the one
Hoping I can find a way
Of getting back to who I am
Looking underneath it all
Try to find the man
I thought I was
Circuits and wires are all that’s left
Of me where I should feel
Nothing but a ghost remains
There’s nothing left that’s real
I thought I was bigger than all of this
I thought I could somehow rise above
It seems I was mistaken
I’m not what I was made of
Bits and pieces fall and crash
And I just watch them fall
I would try to put them back
But I just don’t care at all
I am the machine
And the machine is me
Calculating logic
With a cold energy
I have watched my shadow grow
Longer in the setting sun
Waiting for the word or voice
Waiting for the one
Hoping I can find a way
Of getting back to who I am
Looking underneath it all
Try to find the man
I thought I was
Circuits and wires are all that’s left
Of me where I should feel
Nothing but a ghost remains
There’s nothing left that’s real
I thought I was bigger than all of this
I thought I could somehow rise above
It seems I was mistaken
I’m not what I was made of
Bits and pieces fall and crash
And I just watch them fall
I would try to put them back
But I just don’t care at all
I am the machine
And the machine is me
Calculating logic
With a cold energy
